Skill Development Centre

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

The campus once housed the Husainy Industrial Institute, affiliated with ITI Limited, training young people in carpentry, electrical and electronics, mechanical trades and plumbing. The Trust is reviving that legacy for today’s economy, with training in higher-value skills that lead to well-paid work: AI skills, robotics, CNC and heavy-equipment operation, industrial sewing, and electrical and electronics.

02 · Welfare Schemes

Support for families, when they need it most

Alongside its institutions, The Husainy Trust supports families in the community through welfare schemes, so that hardship does not stand between a child and an education, or a family and a life of dignity.

The Trust’s recent Education Grant helped more than 700 students in schools and colleges continue their studies.

Several more schemes are being prepared and will be launched shortly. Details, and how to apply, will be shared here and on the notice board on our home page as each one opens.

Community Spaces

“We measure our properties not by what they earn, but by whom they shelter.”

Beyond the Husainabad campus, The Husainy Trust owns and/or manages ten residential and commercial properties across Chennai. Many of them hold several apartments and shops, and each tenant is a family or a small business, given a stable home or workplace in the city at a fair, affordable rent.

The Properties Subcommittee oversees them under the direction of the Board of Trustees.
