رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
Empowering lives through dignity, education and opportunity.
The Husainy Trust was founded in 1943 as Madarasa-e-Husainy and Yateemkhana by S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali Sahib, to care for and educate orphaned and destitute children.
Today it is a non-communal, non-political, non-profit institution that runs Husainy Schools and the Husainy Home for Children on its historic Husainabad campus in Ramapuram, Chennai, and manages Community Spaces across the city. It is now working to revive its Skill Development Centre, once the Husainy Industrial Institute. It is governed by an elected Board of Trustees and a General Body of over 700 members.

“My Lord, increase me in knowledge, and join me with the righteous.” — the prayer on the Trust’s emblem
God of All is One:
Whole Humanity, One Family.
The belief at the heart of the Trust since 1943: one Creator, and one human family, which is why its schools, its Home and its welfare are open to all, whatever their faith.
A society in which every individual, whatever their beginnings, is enabled to lead a life of self-reliance, dignity and purpose, and rises to lift others with them.
For over eight decades, The Husainy Trust has enabled individuals to build better futures through three interconnected pillars: education that opens doors, care that provides stability, and skills that create independent livelihoods.
We believe lasting change comes not from short-term assistance but from sustained investment in learning, discipline and values. Through our institutions and initiatives, we respond to the evolving needs of society while remaining anchored in our founding purpose: to nurture responsible, self-reliant and contributing members of society.
“Promotion of the welfare of the orphans is an act of great goodness.”— The Holy Qur’an
Inscribed on our emblem, and lived in every institution we run.
